Two American friends who have a home in my village fell in love with the wines of the area so much that they formed a company to export regular selections of wines to the USA.

I was commissioned to paint a map of the area in the style of a ‘treasure map.’ Always looking for something new and interesting, I was delighted to oblige. Little did I know how this would help them with their marketing. It was a fun project and the map in now in their tasting room in Seattle.

The company, Princess and Bear Wines, was set up and along with the website, also a wine club so that people could get discounts and even visits this area of France

In October 2023 they had a group of people from their wine club from the USA, for tasting, visits to vineyards and to meet some of the people connected with the company. I was invited to attend as I had painted the map.

Now this is the spooky part. A lady from the US was there and she came to talk to me and declared that the reason she was there, was because of my painting. She had never heard of this wine company but came across my painting somewhere on the internet and so discovered the wine company. She started ordering wine and then joined the club et voila!

I have been invited again this year. I wonder what amazing event will unfold then? I’ll let you know.
